Frequently Asked Questions
PERMANENT MAKEUP HEALING DO'S & DONT'S

How long do results last?
Once healed, the results are permanent. However, every 1-2 years a touch-up is usually considered to refresh the pigment. Since every skin is different, results may vary.
Does it hurt?
Most clients compare the pain to getting your eyebrows threaded. Sensitive clients may experience temporary pain, though many report no pain at all, more of a scraping or very slight stinging sensation. We apply a topical Anesthetic before and throughoutΒ the procedure to numb the affected area and keep you comfortable!
How long does the appointment last?
It usually takes 2-4 hours from start to finish. Most of the time spent drawing the desired shape. The tattooing portion lasts 1 Β½ hours.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
In the week before your appointment we recommend avoiding: blood thinners (ibuprofen, and the like), aspirin, alcohol, fish oil or using retinol creams or acids on your skin. You must consult your Physician if you have any medical condition and/or are taking medications. Please do this before reserving your appointment time, asΒ the booking fee is non-refundable. See nitty gritty deets below.
How long does it take to heal?
You’ll be able to wear your new Permanent Makeup back to lunch! In the first 10 daysΒ you will need to avoid getting the skin wet, working out or wearing makeup. We send you home with face shields to help you keep moisture off your face when bathing and a complete homecare kit to use during these first 10 days. It takes about 30-45 days to completely heal, during which time you may experience mild scabbing and flaking, and darker color than your finished look will be.
What is the after care?
Stay out of the sun and water while your Permanent Makeup heals. Avoid chlorine, exfoliation creams, and sun exposure; they may cause your color to fade. We recommend applying a very small amount of ointment twice a day. Refer to our after care instructions in your take-home after care kit.
When should I get a touch up?
Permanent Makeup is a two-step process and requires a perfecting session between 4-8 weeks after your first appointment. This touch up appointment is included in the cost of your procedure.
Can I get Permanent Makeup done while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No.
Who is NOT eligible for Permanent makeup?
We do not provide Permanent Makeup for: those under 18 years old without written parental consent, pregnant or nursing, unmanaged or untreated or active diabetes, glaucoma, skin diseases such as Shingles, psoriasis or eczema on the area of treatment, allergies to makeup, Keloid scar disorder, HIV/Hepatitis, skin cancer, hemophilia, or those taking Acne medications.
Can I get Permanent Makeup done if I have a scar in my brow area?
Yes. If you have a scar, please contact us and provide a picture so that we can determine if you are a good candidate and help set expectations depending on your desired goal. Shading and Permanent Makeup is great for covering up most, yet not all scars.
Does Permanent Makeup work on all skin tones and skin types?
Yes! Permanent Makeup works on all skin tones and types. Oily skin may need more frequent touch ups. If you suffer from Keloid disorder, we do not recommend Permanent Makeup.
Permanent Makeup Healing Process
HEALING DAYS 1-2
Within a few hours, the tattooed area will feel a little tender and you may experience some minor swelling/redness for the first 24 hrs. The pigment color will look very dark for the next 2-3 days and the shape of your brows, lips, or liner may appear thicker than desired due to swelling. As the healing process has begun the tattooed area will begin to weep with lymph (a normal wound healing response). It is best to keep the area from forming a scab at this stage, so we suggest patting dry with a clean tissue until the lymph subsides. Right after will look both bold and full. In general, the stage of the healing process has the area being 50% darker, while also being 10% β 15% bigger than they will be when fully healed.
You are also most likely going to experience minor swelling, redness and soreness.
HEALING DAYS 3-5
Some flaking, shedding, and itching. On the third day you should start to see the soreness or remaining discomfort dissipate. Any redness should be gone, as well. The color may still be darker and thicker than the final result, that will change shortly. Around day 4 the scab is starting to develop and by day 5 your skin will be flaky and itchy.
HEALING DAYS 6-8
During this stage your tattoo is going to fully scab and start flaking or peeling. Most likely your skin will also become very itchy. By day 7 your scabs are falling off. Make sure to avoid any kind of scratching or picking, this will cause your skin to reopen and interrupt the healing process. As your tattooed area continues to flake into day 8, you will see the dark color soften and fade.
HEALING DAYS 9-12
Going into the second week, the flaking and peeling will finish. As it flakes you will have the color go with it.Β By day 12 the tattooed area has an even color and has become more natural looking, even though the color is faded.
HEALING DAYS 13-21
Now that we are entering the third week the color of your eyebrows should be looking even more natural.Β You can return to your normal skin care routine.
HEALING DAYS 22-30
Now that you are a month in your healing process is generally complete. The color of your tattoo is probably 75% β 85% back. You will see slightly more color in the coming weeks.
