Like Multi-tasking? HydraFacial: cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates, & treats
Award-winning Calvert Rejuvenations in Herndon is now offering the true and original Hydrafacial: hydra-dermabrasion!
Is the HydraFacial different from other facials? What does it treat?
Hydrafacials use a patented vortex-creating, exfoliating tip and oxygenated, vitamin-infused water to clean and exfoliate dead skin cells, extract clogged pores, and infuse serums in each and every step. They are gentler than microdermabrasion and can treat dry, dull skin, fine lines, wrinkles, and acne.
While a Hydrafacial at other spas takes less than 30 minutes to complete, at Calvert Rejuvenations we go the extra mile to make sure you get everything you can out of one visit to the spa.
What happens during a Hydrafacial at Calvert’s
Each step of the Hydrafacial requires a different specially designed tip that allows your provider to effectively and uniquely deliver clinically effective dose of each of the potent serums into the skin. The patented specialty tips create a vortex when held against the skin that opens pores for maximum absorption and massages the epidermis as it exfoliates and smoothes.
The HydraFacial treatment at Calvert’s is then combined with additional skincare products, LED lights and manual extractions when needed. Treatments may also include lymphatic massage, light acid or enzyme peels, facial sculpting, and the Lip and Eye Perk-me-up.
Do people like it?
The HydraFacial gets a 97% “Worth It” rating on RealSelf.com based on 94 ratings over the last 2 years.
Is there downtime or side effects?
Some people, like myself, can experience a deep flushing of the skin (hello detox!) if peels or more aggressive tips are used, which can portend a light sloughing or peeling of the skin a few days later, usually not though. I personally get more red BY FAR than any other person we have seen (by like a factor of 10) post treatment and then all I see is glowing and gorgeous skin within 90 minutes. See!? The vast majority of clients we see at Calvert’s don’t experience anything but a wonderful glow and youthful blush, no redness at all (aren’t I lucky? haha). You can go right back to regular activity, though be prepared to receive loads of compliments, because your skin will look amazing.
You will leave Calvert’s with skin that glows with vitality and feels silky smooth. You can immediately return to your daily activities and will experience no pain, swelling or bruising after your treatment. Most of our clients decide to schedule regular Regenerative Hydrafacial treatments to improve and maintain their positive results over the long term.
How many treatments will I need?
The manufacturer recommends a series of 6 – 10 treatments to improve fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, acne and oily skin delivered 2-4 weeks apart ideally; Maintenance treatments every 2 – 8 weeks, as desired.
What’s the investment of Hydrafacial?
The HydraFacial costs anywhere from $199 – $350 per treatment. Calvert Rejuvenations offers full throttle treatments that include what would be a la carte add-ons at other spas or medical offices. Things like LED light therapy, massage, a targeted booster serum, and extractions. You can choose to include the rest of the red-carpet-ready treatment options like lymphatic facial sculpting, Lip and Eye Perk for a perfectly puffed pout and vibrant eyes, additional time for more massage…
How long does a treatment take? Can I have it done on my lunch break?
Full Throttle treatments are about one hour!
Does the HydraFacial hurt?
Nope. not at all. Not even for me! As red as I’ve gotten on occasion this treatment is completely painless.
How do I care for my skin after?
Follow your provider’s instructions and use the products they recommend to you! Be sure to protect your skin from sun.
How soon can I expect to see results? Where can I see before & after pictures?
Edge Systems, the company that makes the HydraFacial machines, says many people see improvement after one treatment. They say the results last 5 – 7 days.
